Ashmore Little Athletics is a welcoming, volunteer-run sporting club where children and families can enjoy athletics in a fun, supportive and community-minded environment.
Welcome to Ashmore Little Athletics. Our club provides children of all abilities with the opportunity to run, jump, throw, learn new skills and improve their own personal performances.
Little Athletics is not just about competition. It is about participation, confidence, friendships, family involvement and giving every athlete the chance to be their best.
We welcome new families, returning athletes, parents, guardians and volunteers to be part of our club community.
Our centre provides friendly competition, training opportunities and a strong community environment for athletes and families.
Athletes take part in a rotation of running, jumping and throwing events. Competition days are a great way to build confidence, improve skills and celebrate personal bests.
Training sessions help athletes learn correct techniques across athletic events. Athletes must be supervised by a parent or guardian during training.
Ashmore Little Athletics is run by volunteers. Parent help is essential with set-up, pack-up, age group management and running events.
In 1984, Brian Johnston founded Ashmore Little Athletics with a vision to provide an outlet for athletes to develop skills across all disciplines in a fun and relaxed environment.
From these humble beginnings, and under the watchful eye of Brian, the club has grown into one of the most successful sporting clubs on the Gold Coast.
Ashmore has fostered the talent of many athletes, including world champion and Olympic gold medallist Sally Pearson, Hockeyroo Rosie Malone, Australian Winter Olympian Desi Johnson, and multiple national champions.
All athletes must be accompanied by a supervising adult at training sessions and on competition days. Parent and guardian support helps keep our athletes safe and allows the club to run smoothly.
Ashmore Little Athletics is proudly run by a dedicated committee of volunteers. Our committee helps coordinate competition days, training, registrations, uniforms, communication, events and the overall running of the club.
Our life members are recognised for their outstanding contribution, service and commitment to Ashmore Little Athletics over many years.
